Merge subtitle files
Combine several subtitle files into one timeline. Because each part can be offset, subtitles for a video split into CD1 and CD2 join up correctly.
Two modes
Append mode places each file directly after the end of the previous one and treats the offset you enter as the gap between them. Offset mode places each file at the absolute time you specify.
Formats and workflow
Select several subtitle files at once or add them one at a time. Each file’s format is detected separately, so mixing SRT and VTT is fine. The merged result is sorted by start time and renumbered from one.
Checking for overlaps
If merging produces overlapping cues, you get a warning. Paste the result into the Renumber and repair tool to close the overlaps automatically.
Frequently asked questions
What offset should part two get?
The running time of part one. You can type it as a timecode such as 01:02:30. In append mode the end of the previous file is used automatically.
Can I stack two languages at the same timestamps?
Yes. Leave both offsets at zero and the cues line up at the same times; many players will show them stacked.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs as JavaScript inside your browser and the file contents never leave your machine, which makes it safe for unreleased scripts and confidential recordings.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It is free, needs no account and nothing to install, and there are no usage limits.
